RIVERBEND PARK & Recreation – SPRING BREAK HEADQUARTERS

3/2/22

Outdoor Spring Break activities are available for students of all ages at Riverbend Park.

PADDLE!

Experiencing the boat ride in backwaters.

A kayak or canoe trip on the shimmering waters of the Wild & Scenic Loxahatchee River is a fantastic way for students to learn about nature and have a fun time.

After explaining safety and paddling instructions, JUPITER OUTDOOR CENTER guides will show paddlers tropical plants such as swamp lillies, native animals like turtles and maybe even a ‘gator or two.

Daylong and shorter tours are available. Paddlers can also go out on their own at Riverbend Park.

Sign up here for a Loxahatchee River paddling adventure.

BICYCLE!

A group of cyclists.

Miles and miles of crushed-gravel paths wind under the shady trails in Riverbend Park.

Bring your lunch, water, sun screen, bug spray and a hat and prepare for a fabulous day exploring along the Loxahatchee River.

Bikes with fat tires, bikes with baskets, tandem bikes, little bikes, big bikes — JUPITER OUTDOOR CENTER rents ’em all. We have helmets.

WALK!

Explore the historic, gorgeous Jupiter waterfront when you take a stroll along Riverwalk, the town’s three-mile walkway through the best of local attractions.

Parking is free along the beach where you start at Ocean Way, just north of the pier. You’ll go through Jupiter Ridge Natural area, a 267-acre bird watchers paradise. Stepping along the Intracoastal Waterway, you’ll enjoy views of the tranquil lagoon, fish and maybe a manatee or two.

After passing through picturesque Burt Reynolds Park, you can head over to Charlie  & Joe’s at Love Street for a snack and beverage.

Or keep walking and make a stop at DuBois Park. Check Out the DuBois Pioneer Home, shipwreck statue and the kiddie pool — a popular, life-guarded swimming area on the Jupiter Inlet.

The Magic Bowls, a food truck located in Riverbend Park next to JUPITER OUTDOOR CENTER, serves up delicious açaí bowls, smoothies, coffee and more in Riverbend Park.

Isaac and Amanda update their menu often, and are a favorite stop for bicycle riders and paddlers after their adventures at Riverbend Park.

The blueberry smoothie is a JOC favorite.

CLIMB!

Scenic view of the city

It’s about 150 steps to the top of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse — and worth it!

The breeze, the serenity, the turquoise-blue Atlantic Ocean mixing the iced-tea red waters of the Loxahatchee River — first-timers are breathless when they step out onto the top.

There’s no better way to understand why local residents are adamant about keeping Jupiter Jupiter than seeing the waterways, the ocean, the mangroves and the folks on and in the water from atop the historic lighthouse.

Reservations are recommended. Click here.
